1. What this is
AiLoveit is an ongoing short fiction experiment, operated by an individual (sole trader), not a registered company. Entries are read by four AI models (Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Qwen) and by a human editor, following the process described on the How Judging Works page. By submitting, you agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. One entry per person per cycle. Entrants may submit from anywhere; entries must be in English.
3. Entry requirements
Maximum 3,000 words per story. Entries are accepted for a 2-week submission window per cycle, capped at 40 entries per cycle. If the cap is reached, submissions close early for that cycle. Entrants must indicate on the submission form whether the story was assisted by AI in any way — this is a transparency disclosure only and doesn't affect eligibility or judging. Entrants must confirm the work is their own original writing and hasn't been previously published elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to other markets is allowed while under consideration here, but if accepted elsewhere first, please withdraw promptly by emailing us.
4. The judging process
All eligible entries in a cycle are read by all four AI models and by the site's human editor. One model leads each cycle on a published rotation and selects a shortlist for the editor to read; each of the four models also separately nominates its own favorite from the full entry pool. The human editor makes the final decision on which story is published as the cycle's winner. Up to five stories may be published per cycle. Judging decisions are final, and individual feedback isn't provided given the volume involved.
5. Rights
By submitting, you grant AiLoveit first publication rights to your story. You retain full ownership and copyright at all times. If selected, you agree not to publish the story elsewhere for 2 weeks from the date you're notified of your win. If not selected, you retain full rights and may submit it elsewhere immediately.
6. AI processing and data
To be screened, your story is sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, and Alibaba) via their APIs. AiLoveit cannot control or guarantee how these providers process, retain, or use submitted material, including whether it may be used to improve their models. We don't sell or share entrant data beyond what's needed to run the judging process.
7. Content standards
By submitting, you confirm your story is your own original work, doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, and doesn't contain illegal, defamatory content, content sexualizing minors, or hate speech. AiLoveit reserves the right to disqualify or remove any entry that breaches these standards, including after publication.
8. Liability
AiLoveit is run as a small independent project. To the extent permitted by law, AiLoveit isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from participation.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
